Standard
Conveyancer 2010 HUD-1 Help & Training
The
update for Standard Conveyancer 2010 with the new HUD-1 was
posted
for download last month. If
you have not already done so you can find it by clicking Help,
then SC on the Web, then Check for Web Updates.
Please be sure to read the download page plus the installation
and use instructions before proceeding.
We've
also updated our RESPA
Center with new links to HUD resources and added a new FAQ/Help
Page that covers both installation and usage issues.
Training
dates have been set and are posted along with sign-up information
on our HUD-1
Training page. More training dates will be added as necessary.
We
had hoped to be able to offer training earlier in the month.
As things turned out, we needed to put all of our resources
into making sure our clients got up and running with the new
HUD-1 for closings early in the month. As you know, you can
always call us if you need help preparing a new HUD-1 for a
closing.
1099-S
Year-End Processing
If
you missed the deadline for Year-End Processing because of all
the RESPA madness, we may still be able to fit you in. Please
call Cheryl Walsh if this applies to you.
If
you did sign up for Year-End Processing, work is underway. It
might feel like things are happening a little later this year
than usual, but there is no cause for concernwe are in
good shape to have everyone ready well before the deadline.
2010
1099-S Availability
Also,
the IRS has not yet published the 2010 1099-S. The same thing
happened last year -- they did not publish the new document
until well into the year. In the mean time, your choices are
to use the 2009 version and change the date, or wait for the
new version and issue your 1099s then.
Clients
often bring up the seller signature on the form as a logistical
problem with this. Many people are not aware that the seller
signature is not an IRS or legal requirement -- it's only on
the form because we added it to aid you in record keeping.
