Standard Conveyancer update available for download

Update 10.20.6: This update contains several new enhancements, including new programs and MS Word documents for the recent Massachusetts Mortgage Discharge Statute (see Release Notes). You should print and save the instructions for using the documents.

Other important new documents: revised HUD-1 and 1A (new expiration dates); new IRS Certificate for No Reporting (now LEGAL size); new IRS 1099-S (all in MS Word and WP 5.1 versions).

WordPerfect 5.1 Users: The documents for the Discharge Statute have been held for further revision. You can install this update now to ready your system for the documents, but the actual documents will be made available soon as a separate download.

System Requirements: Standard Conveyancer must be at version 10.20 (or higher) to accept the update. If you are still running an older version, you must update to version 10.20 using the CD-ROM update disk that was sent to your office last year.

To check your software version:

1.) Click Help, then About, then About Standard Conveyancer.

To Download the software update:

1.) Click Help, then SC on the Web, then Check for Web Updates.
2.) Follow the prompts. As always, updating from one SC workstation updates all!

New Feature: Starting with version 10.20.4, Standard Conveyancer now automatically searches for new updates once per week. Read more about how easy it now is to keep your Standard Conveyancer up to date.

More on Microsoft Word "Ambiguous Name Detected" Messages

We included information last month about "Ambiguous Name Detected" messages coming from Microsoft Word during the data merge process. Basically, the problem is that Word has a temporary macro in its system that need to be deleted.

The information has been updated to better distinguish what you will see and how to delete the macro in the various versions of Microsoft Word (97, 2000, XP, and 2003). Rather than sending the information to you again, we have posted it on our Web site to make it easier to update in the future.

The new information is available at: www.standardsolutions.com/mswordtmpdde.htm.
