We
have added several new documents to help you work with the new
Massachusetts Homestead Act, effective March 16, 2011. You should
receive an automatic document update today with the new documents.
There
are four new homestead declaration documents, a homestead information
disclosure, a homestead affidavit, and a revised homestead notice.
These were developed using the REBA forms as a guide, but are
set up to work better with the software. The
new documents are:
Homestea:
Homestead Notice (goes with Borrower info letter). Appears in
the New File batch, replacing the old version.
HomesDsc:
Disclosure Concerning Homestead (covering the differences between
automatic and filed homestead). Appears in the Closing batch
for both purchases and refinances.
DeclHome:
Declaration of Homestead. Appears in the Closing batch when
"Homestead" is selected on Attributes. (HOT
TIP: Make sure Homestead is selected on Attributes in
your Standard Model and other Model Files)
DeclHomT:
Declaration of Homestead (by Trustee). Appears in the Closing
batch when "Homestead" is selected on Attributes and
"Trust" is selected on the Borrowers screen.
DeclHEDP:
Declaration of Homestead - Elderly or Disabled Person. Appears
in the Closing batch when "Special Homestead" is selected
on Attributes.
DeclHEDT:
Declaration of Homestead - Elderly or Disabled (by Trustee).
Appears in the Closing batch when "Special Homestead"
is selected on Attributes and "Trust" is selected
on the Borrowers screen.
HomesAff:
Affidavit Relative to Homestead. Appears in the Closing batch
for Purchases.
The
best way to verify that your office received the update is to
click the Info menu, then Document Setup, then
List, and look for the new documents in the list.
