The
update to Standard Conveyancer 2010 has been posted to our Web
site. This update will enable you produce the new HUD-1.
Your
Standard Conveyancer searches automatically for program updates
once per week, and the next time it searches it will show you
this update is available. If you do not want to wait, you can
find it by clicking (in SC) Help, then SC on the Web,
then Check for Web Updates.
There
will be a lot of demand for this download -- things will go
much more smoothly if everybody does not rush to it all at the
same time.
Remember,
it's not the new HUD-1 that starts on January 1st, it's the
new GFE. You may only close with a new HUD-1 if the loan
was originated with a new GFE. For nearly every lender, no loans
will be originated with the new GFE until after January 1st,
with the closing following some weeks later.
You
will still be able to do closings with the old HUD-1 after you
install the update. Most users are likely to need both versions
until sometime in February.
You
can preview the installation
and basic use instructions here. More help will be posted
on our Web site over the coming weeks as it becomes more clear
what questions and concerns people have.
This
update needs to be installed on to each Standard Conveyancer
workstation in your office. You should save the downloaded installation
file in a network folder where all users will be able to access
it.
Training: We
are planning on organizing group training in early January.
Individual help will be provided as needed to anyone needing
to close with the new HUD-1 in December or very early January.
Preparation:
Information about what you need to do ahead of time (verify
your software version, check your computer specs, and verify
your account status) was listed in our November
2nd QuickNote.
