Time to make plans for tax season...

Despite all the changes we are focused on for the upcoming months, we can't forget that tax season is fast approaching. It's time to make plans for your year-end 1099 filing.

On track for RESPA updates

To date, the only major lender to announce early use of the new GFE and HUD-1 is Wells Fargo, who said they will start using the new GFE for originations starting December 5th. A few smaller lenders have are taking a similar path, but we know of none starting earlier. Realistically, this means that it is very unlikely that anybody will be closing with a new HUD-1 until near the end of the year.

We all know this is an enormous change for the industry and that a great deal of uncertainty remains about exactly how the new forms will be used. It's likely that our software will require some additional tweaks over the upcoming months as it becomes more clear how lenders will want to use the new HUD-1. In order to better manage the distribution of the update, we will work first with anyone who does closings for Wells Fargo and other early adopters. This way, we will be able to incorporate any feedback we get into the final release of the update.

Training: Because of the expected high demand, at this point we are considering offering group trainings at our office in December and January. Please let us know if you are interested in attending a training session (and how many people might attend) so that we can gauge interest.
