New
RESPA rule deadlines -- a clarification
We've
received lots of questions about the new HUD-1/1A forms that
will be required under the new RESPA rule. There has been some
confusion about the implementation dates:
January
16, 2009: Effective date for most of the provisions of
the new RESPA rule (no software updates required).
January
1, 2010: Effective date for use of the new Good Faith
Estimate (by lenders) and HUD-1/1A.
Some
of the underwriters have been sending out information on the
changes that take effect January 16th. You will not need new
forms or other software changes for that date.
We're
already working on new screens and the new forms for release
later in 2009. Watch for more information in the coming months.
