Standard
Conveyancer for 64-bit Windows
If
you've been putting off purchasing 64-bit Windows computers
or if you are running Standard Conveyancer in Windows XP mode,
your wait is over. Our new software, Standard Conveyancer Closing
Center, is now available.
The
foundation of Closing Center is our 2010 HUD-1 screens that
you are already familiar with. Closing Center adds all the necessary
additional data
entry screens, plus file management and document merge functions.
These new features eliminate the need for the older Standard
Conveyancer screens.
Clients
who have been using Closing Center since this summer describe
it as much more user-friendly and easy to learn than the old
Standard Conveyancer. Because it's set up to use your existing
data, all of your old closing files and custom documents from
Standard Conveyancer will be there in Closing Center.
If
you are using Standard Conveyancer in Windows XP mode, we'll
be in contact soon to offer you an upgrade to Closing Center.
If you would like to move ahead immediately or would like more
information, please call us at 781-324-0550.
Please
remember that Microsoft has ended support for Windows XP. Most
importantly, this means there are no more security updates to
protect your computers from malware and hackers. Click
here for a recap of our recommendations going forward.
Closing
Disclosure Developments
Standard
Solutions is continuing work on our new program for the 2015
Closing Disclosure. We've been following this from the beginning,
so we understand the compliance requirements for the new form.
It's too early to have anything to show you, but we'll keep
you informed as we move though next year toward the August 2015
implementation date.
As
we've said, our focus will be on allowing maximum flexibility
in using the software. Lenders will want to use the form different
ways, and we anticipate that this will evolve over time as well.
In the mean time, please pass along any communications you receive
from lenders about what they will expect of you under the new
regulatory system in August. We're looking into this on our
own, but the more information we have, the better we will be
able to serve your needs.

QuickTip:
Font
size on
the HUD-1 screens
You
can adjust the font on the HUD-1 screens to make it easier to
read.
While
on the HUD-1 screen, click the View menu, then Toolbars,
then Fonts and Colors. The default is 10 pts, but if you
have a large high-resolution monitor, you should try 13 or 14.
This
only changes how the screen looks, not how the HUD-1 prints.
