The
new documents should already have downloaded through your Standard
Solutions Auto-Updater. Please read this entire message before
concluding you have a problem:
The
IRS has released the 2013 1099-S. We have added our two versions
to the software and posted them for download through your Auto-Updater.
You can merge a 1099-S from one of your files to make sure you
got them.
If
you do not yet have the 2013 1099-S, first make sure your Auto-Updater
is running. Look for the white
updater icon in the notification area (lower-right corner)
of your computer. For most people this loads automatically when
they start their computers.
If
your Auto-Updater is not running, click your Start menu,
then All Programs, then the Standard Solutions
folder, then Standard Solutions Automatic Update. Then,
right-click the white updater icon, and click "Check for
New Features."
If
you still don't have the documents after this, please e-mail
us at help@standardsolutions.com
rather than calling. Before we can help you, we will need to
check your setup in our database that controls the updates,
and this can take some time. We will then contact you to resolve
the problem.
FAQs:
Does
each computer in our office need to do this?
Only
one computer needs to download document updates, and new documents
will install on your server for everybody. Updates for the
HUD program, however, need to be run on each computer, so
you should make sure the updater is working on each computer.
Why
are there two IRS 1099 documents in the software?
IRS1099M is for married couples, and IRS1099I is for any group
of individuals not married to each other. The correct version
will show up in your closing batch if you have the correct
marital status entered for the seller.
Why
does it take so long to get the new 1099-S every year?
It
varies from year to year, but typically the IRS does not publish
the new 1099-S until late January or February. We need about
a week to add the douments to the software, test them, and
get them into an update.
