Final deadline to sign up for Year-End Processing!

The deadline is tomorrow, Friday, December 16th (no need to use overnight mail - just post by tomorrow).

Even if your volume is down, consider the hassle and expense of preparing forms by hand or hiring an outside accounting service. You know Standard's 1099-S preparation service is the best way to accomplish your filing.

Our Year-End Processing (YEP) Service prepares your data for easy filing on the IRS Web site and meets all IRS requirements. Our reports let you review your data before filing to make sure it's correct.

For the sign-up form, please click to our YEP sign-up page.

Avoiding Computer Operating Problems

Often computer and software performance issues can be solved by rebooting your computer. Similarly, many performance problems can be avoided simply by shutting off your computer at night.

Shutting down your computer clears out problems that have developed during the day and prevents processes from deteriorating during the night. It also protects your hardware and software against power fluctuations caused by electrical surges or brownouts, and it saves electricity!

If you need to leave your computer on during the night, the next best thing is to restart it before you begin working.

To protect software from damage caused by crashes or electrical problems, do not leave any software running during the night that is not being used.

Standard QuickTip:

Changing the font size on the HUD-1 screen

You can adjust the font size on the HUD-1 screens to make it easier to read.

While on the HUD-1 screen, click the View menu, then Toolbars, then Fonts and Colors. The default is 10 pts, but if you have a large high-resolution monitor, you should try 13 or 14.

This only changes how the screen looks, not how the HUD-1 prints.
