Time
to get ready for 1099 filing season!
With
the end of the year approaching, it's time to start planning
for the 1099-S tax season.
Standard
Solutions' 1099-S Year-End Processing Service:
You
can depend on Standard Solutions' Year-End Processing Service
to prepare cost-effective and accurate 1099-S filings. With
safeguards that help you to avoid costly filing mistakes, our
YEP service helps you prevent errors and omissions and ensure
timely filing.
Because
we use the data already entered in your Standard Conveyancer,
our YEP service is less costly than manual processes performed
by your accountants or staff. Your firm should not be wasting
precious time and resources filling out tax forms by hand!
Please
take a moment to learn
more about our Year-End Processing Service. If you are already
familiar with the service from past years, you can go right
to the fee,
deadline, and early sign-up discount information to sign
up for 2010.
The
early sign-up discount deadline is December 1st, 2010.

Running
File Maintenance is more important than ever!
Recent changes make it more important than ever to regularly
run Standard Conveyancer's File Maintenance procedure. Failure
to do so can lead to data damage, meaning you will be unable
to work while we attempt to fix the damage.
Standard
Conveyancer makes internal backups of your data every time your
file is saved. This happens when you switch between screens,
print documents, or switch between files. Running file maintenance
clears out the excess saved information from your databases.
If it's not run often enough, the databases get too large and
become vulnerable to damage.
Many
clients are now changing or updating their files more times
per closing because of the way lenders are working. In addition,
use of the new HUD-1 screens adds to the amount of times the
program saves automatically. These things have lead to larger
databases that make it even more important that file maintenance
is run on a regular basis.
For
a small conveyancing operation, running maintenance once per
month is fine. A significant conveyancing business with several
people using the program daily should run it every two weeks.
A high-volume firm (more than 100 closings/month) should be
running file maintenance every week.
Standard
Conveyancer is set up to prompt you to run file maintenance
periodically (only one user needs to run it on a network setup).
If this prompt is not set up at your office in accordance with
the guidelines, please call for help to update the settings.
