Specifications and Requirements

  

1. Compatible Software Information (see below for Hardware Requirements):

  •    Microsoft Windows:
    •  Windows 7: Supported. "Home" editions may present unforeseen problems in a business networking environment and are not recommended. Vista will not work WordPerfect 5.1 documents.  
    • Windows Vista: Supported. "Home" editions may present unforeseen problems in a business networking environment and are not recommended. Vista will not work WordPerfect 5.1 documents.
    •   Windows XP: XP Professional is supported. XP Home is not recommended by Microsoft for business environments. Because of limited networking capabilities, must be upgraded to XP Professional for use with Standard Conveyancer. XP Media Edition is not supported.
    •   Windows 2000: Supported.
    •   Windows ME: Not recommended by Microsoft for business environments. It is not supported due to its instability.
    •   Windows NT Workstation: Supported.
    •   Windows 98: Not supported for new installations due to limitations in our capacity to perform remote service. May only be used with MS Word 97 or 2000.

  •   Microsoft Word (Service Pack Information):
    •   Word 2007: Compatible with Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP. Minor differences in the the way you save or print merged documents.
    •   Word 2003 with SP3: Compatible with Windows XP and Windows 2000. May run slower than previous versions.
    •   Word XP/2002 with SP3: Compatible with Windows XP, Windows 2000.
    •   Word 2000 with SP3: Compatible with Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 98.
    •   Word 97: Compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows 98.
  •   Intuit Quicken (for use with optional Checkwriting module).
    • Version 99-2004 required. Starting with Quicken 2005, Intuit has partially disabled importing of data from programs such as Standard Conveyancer™. You may continue to use your current version of Quicken (99-2004) indefinitely; however, if you were considering upgrading or if you need to add Quicken to a new Standard Conveyancer™ workstation, please call us before proceeding.

2. Computer Equipment Specifications:

(Right-click "My Computer," then click "Properties" to review your specifications.)

  •   Processor: Intel Pentium 4, minimum 1 GHz, or equivalent AMD. Celeron performance is not adequate in most cases.
  •   Memory (RAM): Minimum 768 MB for Windows 7 and Vista; 512 MB for Windows XP; 256 MB for Windows 2000/NT/98.
  •   Hard Drive Space: Minimum 200 MB for program; 1 GB free space recommended for proper system operation.
  •   Video: Monitor running at minimum 800x600 pixels resolution (1024x768 recommended).
  •   Printer: Letter and legal paper sources required for auto selection (see Supported Printers List).
  •   Remote service connection (required with SC support plan): pcANYWHERE software or GoToMyPC account plus externally accessible IP address for network connection through Internet.
  •   Networking: Windows Small Business Sever, or 2000/NT/XP for peer-to-peer; Novell 3.x/4.x/5.x.
